On Thursday the 26th of October we are hosting our next community health and wellbeing event at 2-8 Gracefeild Gardens Health and social center between 11- 4pm!
We will be taking part in the #WearItPink campaign in support for Breast Cancer awareness!
We are excited to be collaborating with some new grassroots community projects and our valued longer termed partners.

News From Streatham PCN's collaborative Latin Community Health and Wellbeing Fair!
On Saturday 7th of October, Streatham PCN's organized their first Health and wellbeing fair for the Spanish and Portuguese community.
During this event patients were able to have their BP checked, have discussions about Chronic pain, be tested for Changas disease, Mental health and meet the different support organisations available to them.
In the meantime before the next fair, we will carry on working with this community on the Latin Connection what's app group that was created in February 2023.
This WhatsApp group has grown to over 800 patients where they can find subgroups for language exchange, employment, entrepreneur, Spanish and Portuguese mums and walks. Patients have said that they were very happy that this event was organised for the community and it made them feel included as 20% of Lambeth population is Latin Americans.

Postcards from King's College London
We're delighted to be working with Service at King's on a project where King’s staff and students are invited to write a postcard to one of South London Cares' older neighbours, creating new connections in our community.

Welcoming new induction venues
We're bringing our volunteer inductions to Southwark this autumn with two new venues across the borough. In October, we'll be at London Bubble Theatre in Rotherhithe to welcome new younger neighbours to our community.
We run one online and one in-person volunteer induction each month. New younger neighbours can read more or sign up to join our programmes via this link.
International Day of Older Persons
Each year on 1st October, people across the world mark UN International Day of Older Persons. There are Ageing Well events taking place in Lambeth and Southwark on 30 September to mark the occasion.
Club Highlights After the success of SLC: The Musical, we're excited to host a dance workshop led by SE19 Dance in Norwood. Sunday Afternoon Live! is back after a successful first edition in September and Musical Bingo returns this month as well.
